Chairman Hadi meets PACA region President, Renaud Muselier
The Chairman of Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, received on Oct 25, the President of the PACA Region (South of France), Mr. Renaud Muselier.
Mr. Renaud Muselier was leading an important delegation of elected officials in his region, and economic operators in the South-PACA region. During this meeting, the exchanges focused on several topics, namely Economic and port activities and a potential partnership between Djibouti and the southern region of France.
History tells us that Christopher Columbus in search of India discovered America.
Ferdinand de Lesseps, by building the Suez Canal, allowed the link between Djibouti and Marseille and the Indo-China sea route.
It should be recalled that the Ports of Marseille and that of Djibouti were respectively the 1st and the 2nd Port of bunkering.
Given the historical link between Djibouti and Marseille, Mr. Hadi asked Mr. Renaud the question of "how did you find us after so many decades?"
It should be noted that Djibouti is not a huge market but it's a hub.
Present at this meeting were members of the PACA Regional Council, that of the Private Sector and Chamber of Commerce of Marseille, and members of the Coordination Committee between Djibouti and the PACA Region as well as members of the Djibouti Chamber of Commerce (CCD).
H.E. Mrs. Dana Purcarescu, Ambassador of France to Djibouti was also present in this meeting
