Chairman joins bilateral meeting with Egyptian Minister

Chairman attended a bilateral meeting between H.E. Mr. Hassan Houmed Ibrahim, Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment of Djibouti, and his Egyptian counterpart, H.E. Eng. Kamel El Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of the Arab Republic of Egypt.

Minister Kamel El Wazir reported on the progress of various projects and informed the Chairman of his intention to visit Djibouti in the coming months for the signature.

 The discussion focused on advancing projects previously addressed by President Guelleh and President Sisi in April 2025. Key projects include: •Development of a 20 MW solar energy facility at SGTD. •Implementation of a 40 MW wind power project at Ghoubet. •Establishment of a 5.7-hectare logistics hub for Egyptian products. •Construction of a new container terminal spanning 1,450 meters with a capacity of 3 million TEUs. •Development of a 90 km stretch of RN18, led by the Egyptian consortium comprising Rowad, Orascom, and Hassan Allam.

The Chairman expressed particular admiration for the strategic connectivity corridor linking Alexandria, the 6th of October Free Zone, and Ain Sokhna, emphasizing its integrated rail and road infrastructure.
