Chairman meets with Russian presidential advisor

In a bilateral meeting, the Chairman, accompanied by H.E. Hassan Houmed Ibrahim, Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, and H.E. Aden Houssein Abdillahi, Djibouti’s Ambassador to Türkiye, met with Mr. Igor Levitin, Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation and Special Presidential Representative for International Cooperation in the Transport Sector, along with his delegation, which included representatives from the logistics company FESCO.

During the discussion, Mr. Levitin conveyed Russia's strong interest in establishing a dedicated commercial grain port in Djibouti, citing the country’s strategic position in East Africa as a key advantage.

The Chairman welcomed the proposal, including the installation of 100,000 tons of grain storage capacity in Djibouti to serve the wider region.
