Chairman Participates in Hight-Level Transport Forum Inaugurated by President Erdogan

On 27th of June, the Global Transport Connectivity Forum was officially inaugurated by the President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Istanbul. The Chairman attended the opening ceremony alongside H.E. Hassan Houmed Ibrahim, Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, and H.E. Aden Houssein Abdillahi, Djibouti’s Ambassador to Türkiye.

During the event, the Chairman engaged in productive informal discussions with several high-level officials, including:

H.E. Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistic Services of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia;

H.E. Eng Kamel El Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport of the Arab Republic of Egypt;

H.E.Abdulkadir Muhammed Nur, Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Republic of Somalia, accompanied by Ahmed M. Mohamud, Director-General of Mogadishu Port Authority;

H.E. Abdessamad Kayouh, Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Kingdom of Morocco;

H.E. Fatime Goukouni Weddeye, Minister of Transport, Civil Aviation, and National Meteorology of the Republic of Chad.

In his keynote address, President Erdoğan emphasized the pivotal role of strategic investments in transport and communications infrastructure in enhancing a nation’s geostrategic position and delivering substantial economic benefits.

Following the ceremony, the Chairman and Minister Houmed visited the Türasaş stand, where they viewed a 3-D model of Türkiye’s domestically produced electric locomotive, the Eskişehir 5000, showcasing a traction power capacity of 5 MW per locomotive.
