Chairman welcomes the president of Somaliland
Thursday morning, the Chairman had the honor of welcoming His Excellency Mr. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, President of Somaliland, and his delegation to Red Sea World.
Held in a spirit of cordiality and mutual respect, the meeting marks a significant milestone in the development of regional integration and economic partnership.
Also present at the meeting were Mr. Hassan Houmad Ibrahim, Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, Mr. Radwan Abdillahi Bahdon, Minister of Communication in charge of Posts and Telecommunications, as well as several senior officials from DPFZA.
The discussions focused on the update of studies related to the development of the ports of Zeyla, Toqoshi, and Bullaxar, as well as the enhancement of the corridors.
The Somaliland delegation, led by President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi, was given a guided tour of the facilities at the Doraleh Container Terminal (SGTD), one of the most advanced and efficient ports in the region.
The visit provided them with an opportunity to observe the terminal’s state-of-the-art technological and logistical capabilities, as well as its pivotal role in maritime trade across the Horn of Africa. SGTD officials showcased the terminal’s cutting-edge infrastructure, operational procedures, and the various initiatives in place to enhance the efficiency of both maritime and land transport flows.
This visit reinforces the shared vision of strengthening regional connectivity and promoting sustainable economic growth through partnerships in the port and logistics sectors.
