The creation of a weather forecast unit within our ports
On April 22nd, the Chairman welcomed a delegation led by His Excellency Hassan Houmed, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, to discuss the implementation of a maritime weather forecast station within our port infrastructures.
The discussions focused on devising an emergency plan for the creation of a weather forecast unit within our ports. This unit will be at the disposal of the marine tower control and will provide information on national weather conditions, with particular emphasis on wind periods in June and July-August.
Additionally, plans were made to install weather observation devices, including buoys, to the east (Damerjog) and west (Doraleh) of our port facilities.
This initiative underscores DPFZA commitment to enhancing maritime safety and security in Djibouti's ports.
