DPFZA Chairman finalizes a framework agreement of strategic cooperation with Wuhan Rundo Biotechnology Co. Ltd

During his recent business trip to China, the Chairman successfully finalized, on April 27th, a framework agreement of strategic cooperation with Wuhan Rundo Biotechnology Co. Ltd. This milestone collaboration represents a significant stride towards leveraging green energy and advancing the blue economy.

Wuhan Rundo Biotechnology Co. Ltd. is a key player in the cultivation and promotion of Super Bamboo Arundo donax in China. This unique plant boasts an exceptional characteristic, enabling uninterrupted harvesting for over 20 years. Notably, its average CO2 absorption during growth ranges from 127.5 to 255 tons per hectare, exceeding that of forests by 25 to 50 times. Such attributes are instrumental in achieving carbon neutrality, ensuring energy security, enhancing food security, improving ecological environments, and driving the blue economy forward.

In his address, the Chairman underscored the significance of optimizing energy consumption and reducing carbon footprints to ensure the sustainability and long-term success of Free zones and Ports.

He reiterated the strategy and objective of DPFZA to reshape the current Port, Park, and City (PPC) model into an environmentally friendly Port, Park, and City model.

"This strategic partnership underscores DPFZA's commitment to environmental stewardship, economic growth, and sustainable development," stated the Chairman.

The integration of this renewable energy solution seamlessly aligns with the vision outlined in Djibouti 2035 by His Excellency President ISMAIL OMAR GUELLEH.

This vision encompasses a comprehensive strategy for sustainable development, emphasizing environmental preservation, economic prosperity, and social progress.

This partnership signifies a pivotal moment in advancing environmental sustainability, economic growth, and sustainable development in Djibouti.
