Driving Sustainable Development in Djibouti : Key Discussions and Initiatives
Today, the chairman received at Red Sea World, Mr. Harold Tavares, Administrator of the Africa Group 2.
At the heart of the discussions were the best ways to implement impactful projects in Djibouti, which include strengthening public-private partnerships, attracting strategic foreign investments, and leveraging the country’s unique logistic and geographical advantages to promote sustainable development and regional integration.
Another key point of the discussions was the advantages of multilateralism, the sharing of information and expertise.
It has been shared also that Blue economy activities such as tourism and health need to be developed. The Chairman explained that development begins with education and training. He mentioned the 27 Djiboutian women officers trained in Egypt, a testament to advancing gender inclusion in capacity-building efforts, with the officers set to return home next September.
Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi emphasized the importance of establishing a maritime training academy in Djibouti to enhance local expertise and promote sustainable maritime development.
