Establishing the corridor Djibouti-Kampala

The Chairman participated in the high-level ministerial meeting between the Ministers of Transport from Djibouti, South Sudan, Ethiopia, and Uganda.


The meeting focused on discussions regarding the establishment of a Djibouti Corridor Management Authority, aimed at enhancing regional connectivity and trade facilitation through land and waterways corridors.


In his address, the Chairman warmly welcomed the ministers and underscored the significance of the gathering by stating that, "beyond being a business venture, this is, first and foremost, a family reunion."
Our brothers from South Sudan indicated during the meeting: “If we go fast and alone, we will not reach the goal. But if we go fast and together, we can reach new heights”


The Chairman also shared insights from his extensive travels across the region, emphasizing his commitment to understanding the existing transport infrastructure. 


He recounted traveling far and wide, covering both distant and nearby areas, including journeys to Jimma, Gambela, packag, and along the Baro River. There was also Gulu, and Nimule. 
Concerning Ethiopia there was Addis, Gondar, Metama, Kasala, and Port Sudan.


The Chairman said: "These experiences provided me with valuable firsthand knowledge to support our shared vision for regional development.


The Chairman concluded by reaffirming his dedication to strengthening regional collaboration and advancing the collective goals of the participating nations.
