On Wednesday, October 15th, the Djibouti Ship Repair Yard (DSRY) started maintenance operations on the MV/Africa Sun at 9:30 a.m.

The repair and maintenance works include:

- Hull and underwater inspections

- Electrical and automation systems

- Structural and deck repairs

- Tank and piping systems

- Safety and regulatory compliance

The Republic of Djibouti has been awarded the Bronze Trophy in the category “Development of the Osaka 2025 World Expo Theme,” ranking 3rd among more than 80 participating countries.

This prestigious distinction represents a major international recognition for Djibouti, which successfully showcased — through its pavilion — the richness of its culture, its commitment to a sustainable future, and its inspiring interpretation of the Expo’s global theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” articulated by Djibouti under the sub-theme “Connecting Lives.”

The World Bank projects a renewed wave of economic momentum across the Arab world in 2025, with two unexpected champions topping the list: Libya and Djibouti. According to its latest forecasts for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Djibouti ranks second, just behind Libya, surpassing Morocco, Egypt, and Algeria.

The new economic hierarchy revealed by these estimates highlights divergent growth trajectories. Libya is fully benefiting from the recovery of its oil production, with expected growth of 13.3%, an unprecedented surge in the region.

The Chairman attended the Opening Ceremony of the World Ports Conference, organized by the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH). The Chairman took part as a panelist, contributing to discussions on the current state and future outlook of global trade, particularly in the context of the ongoing Red Sea crisis.

As part of his mission to Japan, the Chairman took part in the Expo Osaka 2025, on the occasion of the National Day of the Republic of Djibouti. The delegation led by H.E. Mr. Mohamed Said Warsama, Minister of Trade of Djibouti, and H.E. Mr. Ibrahim Bileh Doualeh, Ambassador of Djibouti to Japan.

The Chairman was welcomed by Mr. Koga Yuichiro, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry and State Minister of the Cabinet Office, along with several distinguished Japanese figures including:
