  • Djibouti participates the Climat Forum of COP 28.

    On December 2nd 2023,on the sidelines of the Business and Philanthropy Climat Forum of COP 28, Chairman of  DPFZA, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi attended alongside Djibouti delegation to the National Statements of H.E Mr. Ismaïl Omar Guelleh, President of the Republic of Djibouti, highlighting the country's commitment to combat climate change, specifically mentioning the 60-megawatt wind farm, developed by Red Sea Power, a consortium of private investors led by the Panafrican fund African Finance Corporation, as a key national initiative towards the clean energy transition.

  • DPFZA Chairman receives the Assistant General Manager of Sinotrans Container Lines Co.

    Chairman of DPFZA, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, engaged in discussions with Mr. Jeff Mao, Assistant General Manager of Sinotrans Container Lines Co,at Red Sea World. 

    The focal point of their talks was the potential feedering collaboration involving Djibouti Shipping Company, MV Africa Sun, and Sinotrans Container Lines Co. in the region. This collaboration aims to capitalize on Djibouti's strategic location, positioning it as an ideal hub for diverse maritime activities.

  • Bolstering economic cooperation between Djibouti and China.

    On Monday, November 27th,2023, at Red Sea DPFZA Chairman, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Liang Hao, the Economic and Commercial Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Djibouti. 

    The discussions aimed at bolstering economic cooperation between Djibouti and China.

  • The first national hydroponic agriculture technology in DIFTZ.

    On Sunday, the Minister of Agriculture, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Awaleh, along with the Chairman of DPFZA, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, visited the Modern Agriculture Park in DIFTZ, the first national "Vertical Plantation" using hydroponic technology. 

    Djibouti being a semi aride country suffering scarce water resources, imports more than 85 % of its vegetables needs. Local agriculture requires significant amounts of water, resources and land footprint, often unsustainable and economically challenging. 

  • Chairman Hadi visits the multi-mission Languedoc vessel.

    On Tuesday November 20th,2023,  DPFZA Chairman, Mr Aboubaker Omar Hadi, visited the French army frigate, the multi-mission Languedoc vessel. The visit took place upon the invitation of Air Force General Laurent Boite. The frigate's Commandant, Christine Ribbe, hosted the event. The distinguished guests included H.E Mrs.Dana Purcarescu, Ambassador of the Republic of France to the Republic of Djibouti , and Deputy Chief of Staff of Djiboutian Armed Forces,General Taher Ali Mohamed.
