Advancing several projects between DPFZA and Egypt
On February 16th, the Chairman received this morning at Red Sea World a delegation from Egypt.
His Excellency Mr. Khaled Fadi Mahmoud El-Shazli, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Djibouti, introduced the delegation led by Eng. Mohamed Fathy Moussa, Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Maritime Transport.
The delegation comprised representatives from multinational companies, including ElSewedy Electric, ORASCOM, and ROWAD, specializing in diverse industrial sectors.
During the meeting, discussions focused on advancing the action plan of several project, including:
- Renewable energy initiatives for green ports and free zones, with a focus on solar and wind energy.
- Development of the RN18 corridor road.
- Establishment of a 10-hectares logistics hub by Elsewedy Electric within the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone (DIFTZ).
- Investment in 1,500 meters of quay length with a depth of -18 meters at low tide.
As part of their visit to Djibouti, the Egyptian delegation visited the Damerjog Oil Jetty (DLBP), the Société de Gestion du Terminal à Conteneurs de Doraleh (SGTD), and the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone (DIFTZ).
