Chairman Hadi meets the Director and Country Manager of Chevron Egypt International products.
On December 20th ,2023, Chairman Aboubaker Omar Hadi welcomed an important delegation from Chevron at Red Sea World. The delegation was led by Mr. Anis Aboulnaga, Director and Country Manager of Chevron Egypt International products.
In response to potential disruptions in the supply chain through the Straits of Bab el Mandeb and Hormuz, Chevron is interested in establishing strategic supply facilities at the Damerjog Oil Terminal for its oil products and gas (OPG). This effort is to secure the region's supply of Fuel and Lube Oil, which is crucial as fuel accounts for 50% of the opex of the vessel, and lubricants represent about 3-4% of the overall running cost of the vessel.
Chevron, ranking among the top 10 companies in the petroleum industry, covers the full spectrum from upstream to midstream and downstream operations. It owns oil fields near the Damerjog Industrial Complex. Strategically located out of the Bab el Mandeb Strait, this complex includes a pipeline dedicated to supply oil to the US military camp Lemonnier.
The Chairman emphasized Djibouti’s pivotal role in facilitating international trade through its ports and highlighted the strategic importance of Djibouti as a gateway to Africa.
Expressing enthusiasm for fostering stronger international collaborations, he reassured the commitment of the DPFZA to provide a business-friendly environment and facilitate seamless trade operations.
