At the AFC in Abidjan, the chairman held a meeting with Mitsui's Chief Representative of Middle East and Africa Bloc, Mr.Ichiro Inagaki

The discussions centered on Mitsui's current involvement in exporting Ethiopian coffee to the Japanese market. It was noted that approximately 30% of Ethiopian Coffee export go to Yokohama, transiting through the Port of Djibouti.

During the meeting, the Chairman pointed out that although Djibouti hosts around 800 companies within its free zones, only a small number are Japanese. This is in contrast to the historically strong ties between Djibouti and Japan.

The Chairman emphasized the significant potential for expanding collaboration with Mitsui and other Japanese companies. In particular, opportunities were highlighted for Japanese shipping lines to leverage Djibouti’s strategic location and advanced logistics infrastructure as a regional redistribution hub for landlocked countries in the Horn of Africa.
