Chairman meets TMSA CEO to explore port and logistics Collaboration

The Chairman held a meeting with Mr. Mehdi Tazi Riffi, CEO of Tanger Med Special Agency (TMSA), to discuss collaborations and capacity building in the port and logistics sector, drawing inspiration from the Tanger Med model.

The Chairman underscored the importance of vocational training and skills transfer, highlighting Morocco’s approach, where companies contribute up to 1% of training program costs to support workforce development.

The discussions were also about integrating port and free zone operations within a single bonded area under a unified customs regime. This setup aims to enhance connectivity and operational efficiency, making the zone more attractive to industrial investors by offering competitive logistics services, such as multi-country container consolidation and regional redistribution.

TMSA reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA) to adapt and replicate the successful Tangier Med model.
