Chairman Receives a Delegation from the French Treasury Delegation to discuss the New Bicidley Airport

Chairman received Mr. Jacques de Lajugie, Head of Mission at the French Treasury led by His Excellency Jerome Bresson, Ambassador of the French Republic to Djibouti at the Djibouti International Exhibition Center, Red Sea World.

The meeting focused on the progress achieved in securing financing for the New Bicidley Airport project. The French delegation reaffirmed their strong commitment to this strategic project that benefits from support at the highest level of the French Government.

In December 2024, His Excellency President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh and His Excellency President Emmanuel Macron signed a Letter of Intent formalizing the respective commitments of the French Republic and the Republic of Djibouti for the implementation of this structuring project.

Chairman underlined that the new airport dedicated to air cargo operations with a handling capacity exceeding 100,000 tones will significantly strengthen Djibouti’s position as a strategic regional hub.
