Clarification Regarding World Bank Report on Transport Connectivity for Food Security in Africa
In light of the recent World Bank report entitled “Transport Connectivity for Food Security in Africa: Strengthening Supply Chains”, we would like to provide the following clarifications regarding Djibouti’s role and capacity in this domain.
Our infrastructures are well equipped to support a daily bulk grain handling capacity of more than 22,100 metric tonnes.
In terms of storage, Djibouti currently operates 10 grain silos, with a total storage capacity of 315,000 metric tonnes across Djibouti Multipurpose Port and the Old Port.
These figures show Djibouti’s role in enabling reliable and timely food supply chains for landlocked and food-import-dependent countries across the region.
