A delegation of Finnish diplomats visits our ports infrastructure
On Feb 13th, the Chairman of the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority had the honor of welcoming a delegation of Finnish diplomats based in Africa led by Mr. Jarno Syrjälä, Undersecretary of State for International Trade at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland.
Indeed, this high-level delegation, led by His Excellency Mr. Jarno Syrjälä, Under-Secretary of State for International Trade at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland, was composed of:
- Her Excellency Mrs. Sinikka Antila, Ambassador of the Republic of Finland to the Republic of Djibouti, - Ms. Sofie From-Emmesberger, General Director of the Africa and Middle East Department, - Finnish Ambassadors to Mozambique, Zambia, Algeria, South Africa, Morocco, Senegal, Kenya, Namibia, Tanzania, Nigeria,
- As well as the Honorary Consul based in Djibouti Her Excellency Mrs. Minttu Lindahl.
The delegation expressed interest in cooperation focused on the Port Single Window system, Ship building as well as Smart Port technology.
They visited ports such as the SGTD container terminal, the DMP multipurpose port and the PK23 DIFTZ free zone in order to familiarize themselves with the development of Djibouti's latest generation deep water port infrastructure.
They then attended a presentation on the strategic position of Djibouti and its economic potential. During this presentation, discussions focused on topics such as renewable energy, the DPCS system, Sea-Air transport and regional integration.
