Djibouti, the only country predicted by the IMF to show economic resilience during the Covid 19 crisis.
The IMF, in its report on the challenges posed by the Covid-19 and published on April, 15th, raised worrisome perspective as many countries in the MENA region will be falling into recession.
The uncertainty of the duration of the pandemic will further deepen this crisis, complicating policy response!
According to the same forecast, Djibouti will be the only country in the MENA region, showing the most resilient macro-economic framework with an efficiently well controlled inflation rate (+2.9%), a well-managed budget deficit (-2.7%) and current account relatively low (-0.8%).
