Djibouti Ship Repair Yard Welcomes Second Marine Unit: M/V Afourer Casablanca
Yesterday, the Djibouti Ship Repair Yard successfully received its second marine unit, the barge M/V Afourer Casablanca.
The vessel will undergo maintenance and repair works over a period of 10 days, involving a total of 2,240 manhours.
The scope of work on the M/V Afourer Casablanca includes:
- shell scraping,
• sandblasting,
• hull blowing,
• Application of five layers of paint—including two coats of anti-fouling.
• Anode replacement,
• Hull plate renewal, and the renewal of markings.
Lloyd's surveyor from Bureau Veritas is going to visit Djibouti to inspect the quality of the work carried out in the dry dock and oversee the renewal of the vessel's class certification.
