Djibouti Wins the Bronze Trophy at the Osaka 2025 World Expo

The Republic of Djibouti has been awarded the Bronze Trophy in the category “Development of the Osaka 2025 World Expo Theme,” ranking 3rd among more than 80 participating countries.

This prestigious distinction represents a major international recognition for Djibouti, which successfully showcased — through its pavilion — the richness of its culture, its commitment to a sustainable future, and its inspiring interpretation of the Expo’s global theme, “Designing Future Society for Our Lives,” articulated by Djibouti under the sub-theme “Connecting Lives.”

The result of more than three years of preparation and hard work, this achievement reflects the collective effort led by the National Tourism Agency of Djibouti (ANT), which serves as the General Commissioner of Djibouti at Expo 2025 Osaka. Through immersive scenography, high-quality audiovisual content, and a human- and environment-centered approach, Djibouti’s Pavilion impressed the jury with its coherence, creativity, and narrative depth.

This recognition crowns Djibouti’s efforts to promote its image, its potential, and its role as a strategic crossroads between Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, and Asia, while reaffirming its commitment to sustainable development, innovation, and dialogue among nations.

The General Commission of Djibouti at Expo 2025 Osaka extends its gratitude to all public and private partners, artists, designers, and technicians who contributed to this historic success. This Bronze Trophy not only symbolizes the recognition of Djiboutian expertise but also the national pride of having represented the country with excellence on the global stage.

Had the folkloric troupe been present, Djibouti might have won the first prize — as this artistic component remains a powerful symbol of the country’s cultural identity and heritage.
