The Djiboutian provides assistance to the crew members of the MV True Confidence

On March 6th, around 2 PM local time, the MV True Confidence was attacked in the Gulf of Aden, 70 NAUTICAL MILES off the coast of Djibouti.

The ship was rescued by the INS Kolkata, an Indian warship. The Djiboutian Government was mobilized for this critical humanitarian mission.

This concerning situation has mobilized the Ministry of Health and the Djibouti Ports Authority through the Harbor Master's Office.

Out of a total of 21 crew members successfully rescued and evacuated, of Filipino, Vietnamese, and Indian nationalities, we have:

- 4 individuals requiring urgent medical care

- 1 death

The Djiboutian Government stands ready to provide support and assistance in times of crisis, in accordance with the SOLAS 74 Convention of the IMO.

Our thoughts are with those affected, and we express our deep gratitude to all who participated in the efforts during this rescue and assistance operation.
