DPFZA Chairman meets Prof. Carlos Lopes

 

On April 7th, the Chairman received at Red Sea World, Prof. Carlos Lopes, former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations and Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa and currently Honorary professor at Mandela School of Public governance - University of Cape Town.

The discussions focused on the recent changes to U.S. tax tariffs and the impact it may have on the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) initiative.

This meeting took place ahead of the upcoming Regional Summit for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on April 21, 2025, in Djibouti.
