DPFZA Chairman, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi meets with a UN delegation led by Mr. David Gressly, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen

On September 25th, the DPFZA Chairman, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi met with a delegation from the United Nations led by Mr. David Gressly, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen.

Discussions focused on planning of a transfer operation of the tanker FSO Safer, carrying 1.14 million barils of crude oil. The latter being located in Ras Issa, north of Al Houdeïda, may cause collateral damage to the natural environment of the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.

The technical team in charge of this salvage operation will be based in Djibouti, to facilitate the transportation of the equipment and pumps for oil transfer.

The meeting was attended by Mr. Jose Barahona, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations System in Djibouti, Mrs. Louise Barber, Senior Coordinator in the Office of the Resident Coordinator in Yemen, Mr. Awale Abdounasir, Head of the Office of the Humanitarian Coordinator in Yemen and Mr. Nicolas Guinard, Head of the Office of the Resident Coordinator in Djibouti.
