Société de Gestion du Terminal a conteneur de Doraleh (SGTD)
Société de Gestion du Terminal à conteneurs de Doraleh (SGTD), is the operator of East Africa’s most modern and advanced container terminal, a leader in regional trade and supply chain management. Launched in 2009, it is one of the largest port infrastructure projects undertaken by the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA).
SGTD Doraleh Terminal is strategically located at the heart of one of the world’s busiest shipping routes, the Red Sea, a vital shipping artery handling around 30% of the global container traffic. The terminal plays a major dual role as the main gateway to Ethiopia, Africa’s second most populated country as well as a relay transshipment hub port connecting East/West with North/South, as well hub-and-spoke to neighbouring ports in Yemen, Eritrea, Somaliland and Somalia.
The Terminal is the port of choice of the world’s best carriers, including PIL, MSC, Maersk, COSCO, CMA-CGM, Hapag-Lloyd, and Evergreen.
