A FAREWELL LUNCHEON OF CAPTAIN MESFIN ALEMU

Today, the Maritime Pilots of the Port of Djibouti organized a heartfelt farewell luncheon at the Vogue Restaurant in honor of Captain Mesfin Alemu, a distinguished captain of the Ethiopian Shipping Lines (ESL).

Captain Mesfin Alemu has represented Ethiopian Shipping Line with exceptional competence and professionalism over the past six years, fostering collaboration with the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA), the Harbor Master’s Office, and other maritime authorities. During his tenure in Djibouti, he played a significant role in maintaining and strengthening the fraternal bonds between Djibouti and Ethiopia.

Notably, Captain Mesfin Alemu has been instrumental in the training of young Djiboutian cadet captains who graduated from the Alexandria Maritime Academy, guiding them during their onboard training aboard Ethiopian vessels. Many of these cadets, now accomplished professionals, warmly welcomed Captain Mesfin during this special luncheon, a testament to his enduring influence on the next generation of maritime leaders.

During the event, Captain Abar delivered a moving speech, expressing heartfelt gratitude for Captain Mesfin’s contributions and wishing him continued success in his future endeavors.
