Chairman Hadi had the honor of hosting Rear Admiral Vasileios Gryparis
On March 14th, the Chairman of Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA) had the honor of hosting Rear Admiral Vasileios Gryparis, Operational Commander of EUNAVFOR ASPIDES, along with his esteemed delegation. Also in attendance was Her Excellency Mme. Sylvie Tabesse, the Ambassador of the European Union in Djibouti.
The meeting was convened to address the ongoing Red Sea Crisis, with discussions centering on facilitating the support and salvaging of crews on vessels in distress in Bab el Mandeb.
During the meeting, the Chairman highlighted the various marine services the Ports could offer such as Fuel Bunkering, Fresh Water Supply and Ship Repairing.
The Chairman said in the discussions: “No seafarers, no maritime trade. Solas convention 74 should be implemented”.
Aboubaker Omar Hadi at the end of the visit extended a gracious invitation for the delegation to visit the Ship Repair Yard, which left a lasting impression on all attendees with its state-of-the-art facilities and capabilities.
This collaborative engagement underscores the commitment of both parties to ensure the seamless operation and security of maritime activities in the Red Sea and Bab el Mandeb.
