CHairman Hadi welcomes the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Djibouti .

Chairman Aboubaker omar Hadi had received at Djibouti International Tower, His Excellency Henk Jan Bakker, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the Republic of Djibouti, who is also the Ambassador based in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

The meeting focused on various projects undertaken by Netherlands investors and companies, including:

Cold Chain Project in collaboration with a Netherlands company named Flying Swans to export fresh fruits, vegetables, and roses from Modjo using a cold chain method by the railway. This project aims to maintain the freshness of these products during transportation from Ethiopia to international markets via Djibouti Container Terminal (SGTD).

Green Ammonia development as Djibouti aims to become a hub for hydrogen production, requiring significant renewable energy resources.

The Chairman expressed the Green Ports and Free Zones vision for Djibouti's ports and free zones towards transitioning more environmental friendly and sustainable practices.

Among subject discussed were the Djibouti Ship Repair Yard Project funded by Netherlands financial institution, Invest International, with the EPC contractor being Damen. This project will position Djibouti as One Stop Maritime Hub for the shipping industry.

Also the Goubet Wind Farm, Red Sea Power, inaugurated on September 10th have seen the involvement of two Netherlands equity-investors, FMO and Climate Fund Managers in partnership with AFC and GHIH. 

The meeting concluded on other investment opportunities available for Netherlands investors in Djibouti, to deepen economic ties and cooperation between the two countries.
