Chairman Hosts Farewell Meeting with French Ambassador Dana Purcarescu at Red Sea World

The Chairman received the French Ambassador, H.E. Dana Purcarescu at Red Sea World for a warm farewell at the conclusion of her diplomatic mission in Djibouti.

The meeting was an opportunity to review key areas of cooperations:

1- The collaboration efforts with Aspides and Eunafavor in order to strengthen maritime navigation security in Red Sea and the Bab el mandab, as well as the facilitation of crew change.

2- The fuel supply fleet of Red Sea Bunkering serving as floating storage, and the Oil Damerjog Oil Jetty, which provides fixed storage capacity of 25 million tons of annual throughput as the Horizon terminal is saturated at 86%.

3-  The Bicid’ley Airport Project, regarded as one of the Ambassador’s main contributions, was highlighted as an important milestone for Djibouti’s development. The Bicid’ley Airport Project will annually serve half million passengers and 100 000 tons of air cargo by 2035.We completed a bankable study together with Egis and ADPI (FASEP 4 phases). Now we are on FASEP 5 financing stage.

4 - The Sea-Air Cargo initiative, serving 28 cities in 26 countries, which shows the growing commercial demand.

The Chairman thanked H.E. Dana Purcarescu and the French Treasury for their support in advancing Djibouti’s economic priorities and for the excellent cooperation.

The Ambassador expressed her appreciation for her time in Djibouti, describing the city’s port-driven activity as fascinating. She affirmed that the Bicid’ley Project will help maintain Djibouti’s position as the region’s leading logistics hub.
