Chairman meets With The Algerian Ambassador to Discuss Investment Opportunities
The Chairman met yesterday with H.E. Dr. Mohamed Nacer Bessaklia, Ambassador of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria to the Republic of Djibouti.
During their discussions, the Ambassador highlighted Djibouti’s strategic importance, describing it as a beacon of stability in a turbulent region. He emphasized the country’s political stability, advanced infrastructure, and its role as a hub for international trade.
His excellency also stated that Djibouti is the economic lifeline of the region, with exceptional human potential, unique tourism attractions, renowned hospitality, and a stable foreign exchange system.
The Chairman expressed his readiness to welcome Algerian companies interested in investing in Djibouti and using the country's infrastructures to establish operations.
Both the Chairman and the Ambassador agreed on the importance of re-establishing ties with the Cevital Group, a prominent Algerian conglomerate specializing in the agro-food industry. Cevital’s core expertise lies in sugar, grains, and high-quality sesame oil production.
Cevital has expressed interest in investing on an agro-food Business facility for the region, with plans to utilize a 20-hectare site at the Doraleh Multipurpose Port. The land site was already awarded to Cevital.
Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority will participate to the upcoming Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF2025) in Algiers.
