Djibouti: a platform hub.

On Thursday, January 19th, at Red Sea World, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, Chairman of DPFZA, welcomed H.E. Mr. Aden Mohamed Dileita, Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, Ambassador to the Benelux countries and European Union.

The discussion illuminated avenues to fortify and elevate cooperation between the Republic of Djibouti and the nations where the Ambassador DILEITA holds diplomatic representation.

Logistics took center stage, with the Sea-Air Cargo initiative linking key Asian ports to Europe via Djibouti. This multimodale transport offers 50% lesser total maritime transportation time and 50% reduction in costs with air transportation.

Hence, the Ambassador informed the Chairman that Cargo is willing to use Djibouti as a cargo hub to supply goods to Europe.

In addition, the Ambassador shared with the Chairman that the airport of MagdeBurg, in Germany is interested in utilizing Djibouti as a platform hub.

The topic of training Djiboutians in the Belgium port of Anvers was also mentioned.

 This meeting demonstrates a mutual commitment to strengthening collaboration between DPFZA and our Embassy in Belgium.
