DPFZA Chairman is honoured to receive H.E General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau
On Thursday, February 15th, His Excellency General Umaro Sissoco Embaló, President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, accompanied by His Excellency Mr. Ali Hassan Bahdon, Djibouti's Minister of Justice was received at Red sea world by the Chairman of DPFZA, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi.
After a visit of Djibouti’s ports and free zone state-of-the- art infrastructures (SGTD, DMP, DIFTZ), discussions centered on strategies to bolster intra-African trade via the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The Chairman of DPFZA has presented to His Excellency the President of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau the opportunity to establish a trans-Africa railway project starting from Djibouti to Guinea-Bissau for the Economic Development of Africa.
Further discussions focused on the enhancement of sea-air cargo connectivity, utilizing Djibouti's Free Zones as consolidation hubs for sea-shipped goods to be transported to West Africa by air. Currently, we serve 24 cities in Africa which are Addis Abeba, Lagos, Kano, Entebbe, Mogadishu, Lome, Khartoum, Johannesburg, Goma, Kinshasa, Bamako, Conakry, Abidjan, Malabo, Ndjamena, Douala, Kigali, Lubumbashi, Libreville, Gaborone, Windhoek, Lusaka, Harare, Niamey. Guinea-Bissau is set to become the next destination.
