DPFZA participates in the Symposium on emergency and crisis management at sea

Mohamed Moussa Abar, the Harbour Master, represented Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority at The symposium on Emergency and Crisis Management at Sea, held today at the Kempinski Hotel.

The event was attended by :

•   H.E. Hassan Houmad Ibrahim, Minister of 
    Infrastructure and Equipment;
•   H.E. Dr. Denise-Elena Ionete, EU Ambassador to 
    Djibouti and IGAD;
•  H.E. Mr. Keiichi Hara, Ambassador of Japan to 
   Djibouti.
•  Ambassador Guelleh Idriss, Director of Multilateral 
   Relations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The symposium focused on identifying best practices and lessons learned in managing emergencies and crises at sea. 
Key thematic areas included:
•Environmental risks;
•Piracy;
•Responding to shipwreck accidents;
•Cross-cutting issues.

Participants, including policymakers, military representatives, practitioners, and academics, engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening institutional coordination and response mechanisms across the four critical phases of emergency and crisis management: Prevention, Preparation, Response, and Recovery.
