Port of Tadjourah
The Port of Tadjourah became operational in June 2017, under the aegis of the Djiboutian government, and its plan to expand regional infrastructure network. Primarily built to support potash export, it also serves as a multipurpose port for the region. The port was developed in conjunction with other major infrastructure works, such as the North Tadjourah-Bahlo corridor highway.
The Port of Tadjourah features:
- 2 berths of 435m length and 12m depth
- A 30-hectare area, including a state-of-the-art potash handling system and a 190m RoRo quay
- Handles up to 2,000 tonnes of potash per hour, and up to 4 million a year
- Total investment of $90 million
