A large delegation of member countries of the European Union visited the DMP and DIFTZ.
Led by M Aidan O'Hara, this delegation was composed, among others, of the French Ambassador to Djibouti, Mr. Arnaud Guillois and that of Belgium residing in Addis Ababa, Mr. François Dumont as well as several Advisers of the Ambassadors of the '' Spain, Finland, Italy Sweden, Netherlands, Czechoslovakia, Greece etc ...).
A meeting, followed by a tour, was organized by the managers of each of these sites.
The purpose of the visit was to discover the potential that Djibouti offers in the area of port infrastructure.
The Head of the delegation, Mr. O'Hara said that "the EU wants to increase its trade in Africa and that Djibouti is better placed to access the vast African market".
The APZFD was represented by its Administrative Director, Mr. Mohamed Aden Cheikh.
