  • Djibouti’s PM officially opens the 9th Conference of Single Window

    Under the patronage of Prime Minister H.E. Mr. AbdoulKader Kamil Mohamed, and in the presence of Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment, H.E. Mr. Hassan Houmed Ibrahim, Minister-delegate in charge of Digital Economy and Innovation, H.E. Mrs. Mariam Hamadou, and DPFZA Chairman Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, the 9th Single Window Conference's opening ceremony took place on Monday at Djibouti Palace Kempinski.

  • The Djibouti-Kampala Corridor: A top priority

    On the sidelines of the 9th Single Window Conference, a significant minister session unfolded. Minister, H.E. Mr Hassan Houmed Ibrahim of Djibouti, H.E. Mr. Simon Mijok Mijak of South Sudan, and H.E. Dhenge Boru Kosi of Ethiopia, Hon. Byamukama Fred of Uganda, spearheaded discussions on regional developments.

    Joining the ministers in these discussions were DPFZA’s Chairman Mr. @omar_hadi, a representative of the IGAD Executive Secretary, Mr. Josephat Onyari, and Col. Andre Ciseau of the Port Management Association of Eastern & Southern Africa (PMAESA).

  • KSA officials receives Chairman Hadi

    The delegation led by the Chairman Aboubaker Omar Hadi,along with the Djibouti Ambassador, H. E. Mr. Dya Eddine Said Bamakhrama, had a meeting with the Vice Chairman of the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce & industry, the Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Transport and Logistics services.
    A Saudi company announced its readiness to invest USD 100 million in the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone (DIFTZ).
    The Ambassador of the KSA to the Republic of Djibouti participated the meeting via Visio-conference.

  • Chairman Hadi meets KSA government officials and business communities.

    A delegation led by Chairman Aboubaker Omar Hadi, along with the Djibouti Ambassador to the KSA, H. E. Mr. Dya-Eddine Said Bamakhrama, CEO of Djibouti Sovereign Fund, Mr. Slim Feriani met with KSA government officials and business communities.
    Jeddah business community expressed their interest to establish their companies in Djibouti International free trade zone.
    Recent years have seen Djibouti-Saudi trade increased, with Djibouti exporting value $21M livestocks to Saudi Arabia.

  • Inauguration of a wind farm by the President of the Republic of Djibouti

    On September 10th, 2023, under the high patronage of HEM Ismail Omar Guelleh, a historic moment unfolds as Djibouti inaugurates it’s first-ever, utility-scale wind farm, a pivotal step in becoming the first African country to achieve 100% reliance on green energy by 2035. 
    Spearheaded by Vision 2035, this project marks a beacon of energy independence in Djibouti.
