Chairman received H.E. Dr. Alemu Sime, Minister of Transport and Logistics of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia at the Damerjog Liquid Bulk Port, in the presence of H.E. Hassan Houmed Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment of the Republic of Djibouti.

During the visit, H.E. Dr. Alemu Sime expressed Ethiopia’s strong interest in shifting the storage of Ethiopia’s oil products from the Horizon  depot to the Damerjog Liquid Bulk Port, in response to the country’s growing demand and the need for expanded storage and handling capacity.

H.E. Hon. Rizik Zakaria Hassan, Minister of Transport of the Republic of South Sudan, and H.E. Hon. Edward Katumba-Wamala, Minister of Works and Transport of the Republic of Uganda were led by Chairman for the visit of Djibouti’s state-of-the-art infrastructures.

The signing ceremony of the Agreement establishing the Djibouti–Ethiopia–South Sudan–Uganda (DESSU) Corridor Authority was held at Djibouti Palace kempinski, in the presence of the Ministers of Transport of the respective countries, as well as the Ambassador of the European Union.

This milestone follows the official signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the Djibouti Corridor, also known as the Djibouti–Ethiopia–South Sudan–Uganda (DESSU) Corridor, which took place last year.

Under the High Patronage of the President of the Republic of Djibouti, His Excellency Ismail Omar Guelleh, the 35th edition of Intermodal Africa 2026 was successfully held yesterday at the Djibouti Palace Kempinski.

On the sideline of the 35th edition of the Intermodal Africa 2026 going to happen on 11th of February 2026 under the patronage of the President of the Republic H.E Ismail Omar Guelleh, Chairman participated as a keynote speaker to the Horn of Africa Ports & Maritime Stakeholder Technical Engagement Forum, organized by the Port Management Association of Eastern and Southern Africa, under the title ‘Strengthening Regional Dialogue, Connectivity and Operational Collaboration’.
