The Chairman met with a delegation from ElSewedy Electric, led by Eng. Mohamed Fathy Moussa, Assistant to the Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Maritime Transport.

Yesterday, 22 newly graduated all female marine officers officially began their duties within the Harbor Master’s Office at the Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority. They are composed of 18 deck officers and 4 engineers.

These officers are part of a group of Djiboutian women who departed in 2021 for training at the prestigious Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport in Alexandria, Egypt.

Their return marks a proud milestone for Djibouti, symbolizing progress, empowerment, and the growing role of women in shaping the nation’s maritime future.

Djibouti International Free Trade Zone (DIFTZ) is proud to announce that during the months of September and October 2025, 400 new jobs were created with just one company operating within DIFTZ.

As part of our ongoing commitment to youth empowerment and skills development, young professionals have been recruted in several key sectors, including:

The Chairman met with the Ambassador Mohamed Ali Nur, General Director of the Port Authority of Mogadishu.

On the sideline of the meeting, the Ambassador also met with the Director for International Investment of Red Sea Gateway Terminal, Mr.Gagan Seksaria.

This meeting provided an opportunity to exchange expertise and insights on port management and development.

During his visit, the Ambassador toured the Damerjog Industrial Park, SGTD, DMP, and DIFTZ, gaining a comprehensive overview of Djibouti’s port and logistics ecosystem.

As part of his work mission to Jeddah, Mr. Aboubaker Omar Hadi, Chairman of Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority (DPFZA), attended as a witness the signing ceremony of the Framework Agreement for a 30-year concession of the Port of Tadjourah between the Port of Tadjourah and Red Sea Gateway Terminal (RSGT).

This agreement follows the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) previously signed between the two parties in March 2025. It is a key milestone in strengthening cooperation between Djibouti and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the port and logistics sectors.
