The Japanese Maritime Association visits Djibouti

 DPFZA Chairman, Mr Aboubaker Omar Hadi was pleased to receive on february 25th ,2023, the Japanese Ambassador to Djibouti, H.E M Otsuka Umio, accompanied by Mr. Junichiro Ikeda, President of ‘The Japanese Shipowners’ Association’ and also Chairman of Mitsui O.S.K. Line.
 
The delegation was composed of Executives and Managers of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Japan Shipping Companies, All Japan Seamen’s Union, and International Mariners Management Association of Japan (IMMAJ).

The DPFZA presentation andall its projects were shared with the delegation. 

Bunkering, Dry Dock, Transhipment and the 'CIF Djibouti' concept were at the heart of the discussions.

The delegation praised Djibouti's Ports and infrastructure development and its vision to become a regional commercial hub.

The Japanese Shipowners Association (JSA), is a maritime organization of Japanese nationals who are charterers, owners, and operators of ships.


The purpose of the JSA is to promote fair and free business activities in the shipping industry and to contribute to the development of the Japanese shipping.

Some 1800 vessels a year with Japanese flags or owned assets going to/from the far East/Europe passe through the  Red Sea.
