  • Chairman Participates in the 7th Djibouti–Saudi Arabia Joint Commission Session

    The Chairman participated in the 7th session of the Djibouti–Saudi Arabia Joint Commission, held from 7 to 9 December.

    During his address, chairman informed the audience that Tadjourah Port concession for 30 years to Red Sea Gateway Terminal has been signed on the 22nd of October 2025 in Jeddah and the implementation of the agreement is in process.

  • Expansion of Maritime workforce at Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority

    The 7th Djibouti–Saudi Commission concluded with the signing of the official minutes by H.E. the Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment of Djibouti Mr. Hassan Houmed Ibrahim and H.E Vice minister of transports and logistics services Dr. Rumaih al Rumaih.

  • Chairman Meets IMF Administrator to Discuss Economic Indicators and Informal Sector Challenges

    The Chairman received at Red Sea World Mr. Régis O. N’Sonde, Administrator at the International Monetary Fund, representing 17 African countries, including Djibouti.

    During the discussions, Chairman emphasized that the current Debt/GDP ratio is inaccurate, as the country’s GDP is underestimated due to the weight of the informal sector.

    Chairman stressed on the need for IMF to assist formalizing the informal economic activities such as urban transport, real estate, and small businesses, which represent a significant share of Djibouti’s real economic output.

  • Chairman welcomes a delegation from BRED and BCIMR at Damerjog Industrial Park

    The Chairman received at Djibouti Damerjog Industrial Park Mr. Christian Schellino, Director of Commitments at BRED Bank of France who led a delegation from BCIMR Bank of Djibouti.

    The Damerjog oil jetty investment of  USD 155 million was partly financed by BCIMR with USD 35 million and USD 120 million provided by Afreximbank.

    Chairman expressed his appreciation to BRED and BCIMR, noting that this contribution marks a record achievement for a local bank in supporting the development of strategic maritime infrastructure projects in Djibouti.

  • Chairman receives the newly appointed Ambassador of Ethiopia

    The Chairman received at Djibouti International Free Trade Zone H.E Dr Legesse Tulu, the newly-appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.

    The Ethiopian delegation began their visit with a tour of the Djibouti International Free Trade Zone, followed by a comprehensive corporate presentation of Djibouti Ports and Free Zones Authority. Discussions centered on reinforcing the logistics partnership between Djibouti and Ethiopia.
